Instagram post 2214694776706916950_7432919757 Been trying to up my game and learn new skills. Tried my hand at tube setting gemstones. After a few bad words, one small quiet inner tantrum (where I had a reoccurring fantasy of taking a hammer to the whole thing) and a half dozen new tools I have achieved success. It’s not perfect but it’s a good start. I feel much more confident. I learned several important things 1. If you’re learning a new technique make sure you have the right tools for the job. 2. YouTube is your friend use it! 3. Maybe do something simple to start with! The main stone is called Stichtite and the little gems are CZ with a couple of 9ct settings and one silver. Stichtite was discovered in Tasmania, Australia. The current catastrophe of the horrific fires in Australia are haunting my thoughts at the moment. The loss of life and property is staggering and just so very awful. As a small gesture I would like all the funds from the sale of this ring to go to helping those out in Oz who have lost. As Stichtite was discovered there it seems appropriate. As soon as I have this ring hallmarked it will be available.

My last ring of 2019. ‘Big Blue’ (when a ring is this huge it’s important to name it) a beautiful lapis lazuli set in sterling silver for a lovely customer. My Etsy shop will be open over the holidays and I will post orders out as the post office permits. I am happy to do commissions but the Assay office is closed until 2 January so I won’t be able to get my work hallmarked until then. Thank you to all my customers, followers, friends and fellow jewellery addicts for making this year so amazing for my little shop. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year. 🧡🧡🧡

Instagram post 2188798170272526974_7432919757 I usually prefer large colourful stones, but this little gem is so very intriguing. It’s called Lodolite Quartz or Scenic Quartz. It’s where halfway through the creation of the quartz there is a pause and cave dust or other types of rock gets inserted/blown in then the quartz making is resumed. It looks like a mini universe inside a quartz. Very cool.
